THE SPEAKERS
CATHERINE ALTHAUS is Senior Treasury Analyst at the Queensland Treasury. She
recently undertook a PhD in Politics and Public Policy at Griffith University
on the topic of “Policy Design and the Calculation of Political Risk” and
has an interest in public policy development in the context of natural law
principles and virtue ethics.
PROFESSOR PHILIP AYRES is a member of the Department of English at Monash
University and was recently commissioned by the Archdiocese of Sydney to write
a biography
of Cardinal Moran. His most recent book is Owen Dixon (Miegunyah Press)
ADRIAN BARRETT is the Research Officer for the Federal Member for Indi.
MICHAEL MCAULEY is a Sydney Barrister.
DR TRACEY ROWLAND is the Dean of the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and
Family (Australia) and Permanent Fellow in Political Philosophy and Continental
Theology. She is the author of Culture and the Thomist Tradition after Vatican
II (Routledge: London, 2003) and a member of the Editorial Board of the English
edition of Communio: International Catholic Review, founded by Hans Urs von
Balthasar and Cardinal Ratzinger, among others, to foster a vision of post-Conciliar
renewal rooted in tradition.
REV PROF MICHAEL TATE AO was a member of the Australian Senate 1978–1993,
Federal Minister for Justice 1987–1993, Ambassador to The Netherlands
and The Holy See 1993-1996, and was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of
Hobart in 2000.
